「塑料混血PLA」更难回收
Hybridism PLA difficult to recycle
近来最备受瞩目的聚乳酸餐具,无毒、可分解,又拥有一般塑料的可塑性、便利性,聚乳酸被当成塑料的替代品,很快成为材料界新宠,更有「绿色塑料」的美誉。
Recently, PLA tableware, which is non-toxic and decomposable, has the plasticity and convenience of general plastic. PLA is regarded as a substitute for plastic, and soon becomes the new favorite in the material field, with the reputation of "green plastic".
PLA不同于石化制成的塑料,其主要是由玉米淀粉,聚乳酸、纤维蛋白质,所提炼出的塑料分子做成。理想状态下在高温50度以上,湿度达60%的环境中约40天左右能被自然分解。
PLA is different to traditional plastic made from petrochemicals,is mainly made from plastic molecules extracted from corn starch, Polylactic Acid and fibrous protein. In the high temperature above 50 degrees, humidity up to 60% of the environment about 40 days can be natural decomposition.
总所周知,餐具最基本的要件是耐热。但是,纯的聚乳酸其实并不适合直接拿来做成餐具,因为只要超过60度,聚乳酸就会开始变软、变形。正是因为「在高温下可分解」,才成为环保材料,怎么能耐热?
As we all know, the most basic requirement of tableware is heat resistance. However, pure PLA is not really suitable for tableware, because after 60 degrees will soften and deform. The reason of why PLA become environmental protection material is it can decompose in high temperature, so how can it heat resistance?
大多数的厂商会将聚乳酸和传统塑料PP混合,增加餐具的耐热性跟持久性,这样的「塑料混血儿」反而会让原本可以回收的塑料,因为掺杂了聚乳酸,反而没办法100%分解,变成不能回收的废弃物,形成「塑料污染」。
Most manufacturers will mix PLA and traditional plastic PP to increase the heat resistance and durability of tableware. Such "plastic hybrid" will instead make plastic that could have been recycled, because of the doping of PLA, can’t 100% decomposition, and can’t be recycled, forming "plastic pollution”.
虽然塑料千年不化,是造成环境污染的元首,但是透过多管齐下的回收、循环利用,才能减缓对环境带来的伤害。
Despite the fact that plastic has not aged for thousands of years and is the leading cause of environmental pollution, can continue through good recycling and multi-pronged approach can mitigate the damage to the environment.
